The so-called Wandering Jew is a figure from 13th century Christian folk tales. He is said to have wandered all over Europe for several centuries. According to the stories, he refused Jesus a short rest at his threshold. As the Jewish man chased him away, Christ condemned him to roam the world forever. Many artists were inspired by this legend and depicted an often contemptuous or frightening figure. This documentary tells the eventful cultural history of the Wandering Jew archetype.
